According to SiteBuildIt’s Action Guide – day 3, create a web site blueprint based on a 3 tiers structure.
This Site Content Blueprint helps build a site with content focused keywords , adding pages according to the site’s architecture, and providing content and value to readers within the site’s theme and searchers’ targeted search.
For this site the first tier is “Make Your Own Website”.
2nd tier – Create Website, Design Website and Design Website.Future addition to the Tier 2 will be Promote Website.
As you have noticed, the limitation of a 1-column page is there is no room for a navigation menu by the side.
A horizontal menu has its advantage – highly visible and clickable, but not much room for expansion.
One way to go around it is to reduce it to a one word menu.
For future expansion, I will have to move the menu to either above or below the header.
Not an ideal solution, but by then, I’ll be able to redesign this template, keeping it neat and simple, while maintaining it’s “beauty”.
Meanwhile I’ll add another tier to the site. Not so search engine friendly, so do not do this at home.
If my linking strategy worked, I could even add on a 5th tier. Now this is really deep.

Adding a tier or 2 means I have to rework on the website blueprint, reshuffle the pages.
With this done, I’ll be able to place sponsors’ advert on the tier 4 and tier 5 of this web.
You may say you saw some adverts on tier 2 now….
Yes, while tier 4 and 5 are not ready, I need to place them on tier 2.
